Billie White 09/29/2009
![]() Inside Billie White Church Yesterday Bro. Han, Sis. Lee and Pastor Carlos visited the town of Billie White, where Bro. Han has just bought this abandoned church. Billie White is a very rural community, with about 50 families and lots of children. The loudest noises in town come from farm animals, and there are few opportunities to go to a church service. The building needs some construction, the water pump doesn't work and there's a broken fridge in the yard, but with prayer and patience, people will hear God's praises in Billie White. ![]() On Friday in the sanctuary at Prayer Mountain, Keron Terrence Herbert and Idolly Lynette Gongora were married by Pastor Han. They had been engaged for two years and had known each other for nine. The chapel was filled to capacity for their wedding. The couple ask for continued blessings from God, and they pray that their marriage will be a holy example of love and commitment. Last night, the couple celebrated with a reception at their home church, Unitedville. Members from Teakettle Church and Valley Community Church also came to celebrate. ![]() The church also celebrated the one-year anniversary of youth leader James Jones and his wife Gina. Their prayer is for continued communication in their marriage. "The more we're together, the more we understand about each other," James said. The Shol Family 09/28/2009
Last night family and friends gathered at the home of Dianny Shol to eat, offer encouragement and reminisce about her husband, Sebastian Shol. Bro Shol was recently killed by a lightning strike as he was walking at night with his machete--he was found lying face-down in the grass the next morning. It was an incredible shock to his family and the entire community. Bro Shol's kindness was far-reaching, and he is missed by everyone. Church members remember Bro. Shol as a loving father and leader in the church. Dianny says her husband would usually wake up during the night at least once to check on his children, and his nephew Levi says that just before his death, Bro. Shol gave a passionate sermon to the church youth. As if in God's preparation of what would happen, he told them to know Jesus today, because tomorrow may not come. | AuthorAlabama native, Florida alum and volunteer staffer with Bro.
